So, I was at IBM Extreme Blue for an internship during the summer and it was great. The idea of IBM Extreme Blue is supposed to be an internship with 3 technical interns, 1 MBA intern and you're supposed to do an entire "startup" idea together, present it to executives and finally present it at the headquarters at Armonk, NY. This fulfilled a lot of my expectations, the people I worked with were super smart and we presented and got very high level feedback from general managers, directors, and senior technical staff member. We got access to VPs of emerging technologies, fellows of various technologies. We ultimately got a ton of experience: pitching ideas, designing/conceptualizing the product, coding, and finally rushing toward the end to finish off the product. It was a great experience and you almost instantaneously get a job offer at the end. For a summer internship it wasn't bad and the pay was good as well above a lot of competing prestigious companies (MS, Google). The interview process involved creativity, technical side, IQ test, and checking references as well. The team also bonds through late nights and events hosted by extreme blue.
