The pay is great, as are the benefits. EA is one of the top 10 biggest software companies, and Tiburon is just a part of that. However, the company really do not value their workers enough. They view engineers here as easily replaced and expendable. EA is notorious for its long hours, a lot of employees here work routinely for 80 hours per week. The work is pretty stressful and you hardly have time to make friends, life could be even harder if you're married and have kids. That is why the turn-over rates is high and you can constantly see rounds of lay-offs and hiring happening at the same time. If you interview, notice how few people you meet have even been there one full year.
When there are problems working with the team, they will have meetings ABOUT you and WITHOUT you, instead of meeting with your. This leaves you no room for explanation and discussion of improvement plans. They just make assumptions over your problem and decide what to do based on them.
I enjoy developing games, and I like the work I have produced at EA. I am well paid. Yet I'm just demanding for a little bit of my own life and some respect from the management.
