The EA office at Florida has inherited its casual style from the headquarters. People wear casual attire to work; employees can occasionally bring their kids into work. The location of the Orlando office is great. The discount we got for the games is awesome.
There are a lot of VPs in this company, too many VPs or managers on any subject matters. Individuals rarely have the opportunity to get their voices heard, the managers and HRs Not many of them understand the issues well enough. They tend to over-generalize and try to speak for the whole team or division, even though there're in fact different opinions within the team. This often results in lots of discussions and shifts in directions, and burn-outs for engineers and other people who actually have to carry out the strategies. I really hope EA can downsize its bloated structure, and spend some time listening to people at the front-line. This is not just good for us but also for the bottom-line.
