Although hours a bit long and it takes much time for me to commute from home to office, other things that Google offers all make me love this place - salary, bonus, not to mention the excellent benefits. It is also both satisfying and challenging to work with very smart colleagues. Unlike others said I think engineers are still able to control their own career path if they work hard enough - as the organization grows hiring from outside is unavoidable. Engineering and innovating products are still the focus of the company and I don't see it would change in future.
