At Oracle you're stuck where you are
July 30, 2008 by fishwoods
Certainly, great brand on resume. But you don't really need the name on your resume if you want stay at the company and have a lasting career. However, at Oracle not many people have a "career", where the word means a rising path in terms of position and compensation. People here... Read more

Not so bad
July 23, 2008 by Mandyz
My internship experience at PayPal was decent. The pay is very good for an internship and I got to be involved with some great projects. I even was in charge of my own PayPal promotion. I think the internship was a great resume builder and a fun environment, although the dynamic of PayPal may be... Read more

Mostly maintenance and support work
July 16, 2008 by ellie
Working at IBM for sure gives the brand recognition that you look for. But as far as personal growth and career development is concerned, the prospect doesn't look that great. There is very little chances u will find some real development work going in IBM. Most of the work people are... Read more

Not every company has a great work-from-home option, but Sun does
July 4, 2008 by thebrain
The pay is pretty good, and the other benefits are superb. We got tuition reimbursement if we wanted took classes from universities nearby. Reimbursements from health clubs, too. The hours are flexible, and the best part I enjoy is the work-from-home options. I'm a big fan of their work from... Read more

Dell is an awesome place to work
June 25, 2008 by rbj06
Dell is not a place that you can be lazy and earn a fat pay check every month. People work very hard here and work/life balance isn't great. What I love about Dell is that the company plays fair. They recognize people who deliver result and reward them with the things they deserve. It knows... Read more

The pay at EA is good, but beware when they have meetings ABOUT you
June 24, 2008 by bcarr
The pay is great, as are the benefits. EA is one of the top 10 biggest software companies, and Tiburon is just a part of that. However, the company really do not value their workers enough. They view engineers here as easily replaced and expendable. EA is notorious for its long hours, a lot of... Read more

Google Summer of Code
June 24, 2008 by foo232
Google's Summer of Code can be a good experience. The perks include a great deal of freedom in choosing your project (Google allows you to choose among many of the most popular open source projects) and ability to work from home (or wherever you choose - I roamed around China while... Read more

IBM consulting sucks up your life
IBM
June 14, 2008 by jordanl
Pay at IBM starts at about average for the industry standard, but it would get worse as the pay rise is not as much as in the other companies. I heard there's a protest against pay cuts from a bunch of technical staff this year.

I understand traveling is part of the job nature of... Read more

HP should care about customer satisfaction
HP
May 28, 2008 by Dave_Nas
I believe no one can deny that customer satisfaction relies heavily on the service of sales and support staff. An employer should always want to keep their sales and support staff happy because their performance greatly affect the image of a company. When the management and the policies are not... Read more
